INTRODUCING YOU TO BANDS YOU MIGHT  NOT KNOW, BUT TOTALLY SHOULD.

Pale Honey

The last time I wrote about music from Sweden, it was for the excellent Miriam Bryant. Now, just a few weeks later Sweden is back on my radar. This time for the super rad, minimalist rock of Pale Honey. The duo from Gothenburg have been friends since grade school and started making music together in high school. Focusing on drums, guitar and vocals, they have a sparse sound that feels more filled out than you’d expect. Their cover of ABBA’s “Lay All Your Love On Me” turns the disco track into a stripped down, haunting perfection. I guess I’ll need to head to Sweden one day for the music and, of course, the wonderfully liberal views on nudity.
