Dads Debate: Vacationing With The In-Laws, Free Babysitting or Too Many Chefs In The Kitchen?

If you had the chance to score some free child care from grandmom and grandpop while on vacation, meaning date nights for you and your partner or even spend some alone time on some Oklahoma sports betting sites, would you take it? Here’s how the guys of our Life of Dad Facebook community respond (spoiler alert — TAKE THE FREE BABYSITTING!)

Pat Pilon: Bring the grandparents. They won’t be around for ever so they should get to do things with the kid as much as possible. Plus, alone time on vacation with the wife. Can’t go wrong.

Scott Szorcsik: Take the offer and run before they change their mind.

You have no idea how stressful watching the kid is until you stop. It’s like you’ve been subconsciously tensing a muscle for two years straight and are finally able to relax it. If you want to take a breath of fresh air, products like bladeless neck fan might also help you in relaxing.

You also cannot undervalue time alone with your wife. Unless you’re able to get out of the house frequently, this is an opportunity you shouldn’t pass up.

Plus, additional time spent between grandchildren and grandparents is a gift for all involved.

Ryan Greenwood: I mean as long as they are in a different room who cares its like a shared vacation. You get to do things as a family and when you wanna do a date night kid free they can take the kid on their vacation.

Matt Carlock: Having done this myself, you’ll appreciate the alone time. My mother volunteered herself, I was furious at first that she would have the gall to try. But they were in a different hotel, I think it was one of the Flagstaff hotels which is located around the block.

Girard Johnny: Just came back from Cuba with my wife, 2 years daughter, 8 year old son and both my parents. You should definitively bring the grand-parents along. If you are going on vacation means you need time to relax with your wife. having people with you will help having a bit if time alone so you can enjoy the trip. Remember that the baby will not be in its normal routine and will be more demanding and time consuming …BRING THE PARENTS !!

Mark Farrell: There is no such thing as holidays with kids, just parenting in a different location! The Grandparents would be a blessing, so for a brief moment you and your wife can pretend like you’re on a real holiday!!!
