While I continue to champion the greatness of the indie kid’s music scene (the opposite of KIDZ BOP), the fact remains that most people, dads especially, exclusively feed their kids a steady diet of their own music. So we asked, what’s your kid listening to these days?
What music does your kid like?

Andrew Oliver: The 3-year-old does the running man and says “ju ju on the beat ju ju on the beat, fried chicken fried chicken”. I think she mixes whatever she hears and just goes nuts with it. Help us!
Adam Camm: My son loves ‘Bills’ by Lunchmoney Lewis but I did have a real proud dad moment when, after listening to an entire Smashing Pumkins set he started dancing along to ‘Hummer’.
Rikki-Lee Morris: Metallica. My one year old only has to see the artwork for the new album and she starts headbanging.

Greg Kisner: My 10 month old loves progmetal.
Brandon Loftin: My daughter likes just about everything from classical to pop but my 17mo old son has to have something with a good beat. He could be mid scream and if I put on Closer and turned it up he was a completely different kid.
Joseph Stewart: My 19 month old loves Weezer and Green Day, and pretty much anything with heavy guitars.
Dru Longstreet: Ghost busters 2 theme song.
On repeat.
1500 times a day.
Alex Peterson: My 5 year old daughter loves the Doors and anything that’s older like Frank Sinatra etc. But I think her favorite is Queen. Pretty proud.
Jay Winstead: My 9 year old little girl is all about some Arianna Grande and the Beibs but from time to time she gets in the car and says “daddy lets listen to some Linkin Park” and at that moment I know I’m doing something right.
Peter Philion: My son is 14; believe it or not, he likes Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole. He even plays their songs on the piano.
Brad Heil: I got lucky with my two year old…his absolute favorite song is Yellow Submarine by The Beatles.
Robby Patiu: My kids are currently into the Trolls Movie Soundtrack. They really love singing along.
Adam Fingland: 90’s-2000’s grunge. Nirvana unplugged album is in the car cd player all the time.
Gina Ownby: Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer sung ONLY by Garth Brooks.
Scott Dunn: So tired of hearing Blake Shelton. Although they do rock out to Queen so I get some rest from twangy songs.
