We all miss our kids to some degree when they go away for long stretches. And usually, they miss us back and reunions are usually pretty happy occasions. But this might be the happiest Father Son reunion there has ever been.

Matt Cobrink, a 53 year old man with Down Syndrome had left his father Malcolm for 5 days. He was flown across the country from Los Angeles to New York, to meet his favorite baseball player. This was the longest stretch away from his dad in 25 years, when his mother passed away.

Malcolm and Matt live together and rarely spend time apart. The week with his sister was wonderful, but the reunion at the end might have been the best part of the trip. The pure joy in Matt’s reaction to seeing his dad is only matched by his father’s elation. It’s a beautiful moment showing the awesome bond between a devoted father and his loving son.
