The Peace of Contentment, The Never-ending Quest for Quiet

Joe Clarence Edwards: Where do I find peace? When I go to bed, knowing there’s a roof over my family’s head, food in their bellies, and other resource needs met.

Now, where do I find quiet time during the day? That’s the question to be answered!

Cycling For Peace

Sean Kelly: When my twins are in their trailer being towed behind my bike. They love it and settle in quickly, I enjoy the peace and telling them about all the things we see as we ride. Ecosmo’s range has a folding bike for every type of rider here.

There Can Be No Peace While Awake

Nick Groves: You don’t get peace unless all kids are asleep. You don’t have peace in the bathroom, they will be right in there with you whether you’re in the shower or on the toilet. They scream and whine if they see you leave to run to the bank or to the store. Mine follows me everywhere around the house haha. Welcome to parenting!

Peace Is Found All Around and In Stereo Surround Sound

Lyndon Johnson: Peace?

I find peace in my youngest son falling asleep on my chest every night.

I find peace in my oldest son trying to impress me.

I find peace in doing my best at work to provide for my family.

I find peace in trying to teach my boys to be good men.

Finally, I find peace in music. It’s my go-to.

A Moment Of Self-Reflection Helps

Alex Pfannebecker: This is something I struggle with from time to time. There is always something. Dishes to do, bills to pay, the house is too small, there are times that (I think) all dads experience intense isolation and loneliness and it can be overwhelming. I lean on my wife in those times, I remind myself of where we were, what the kids do well rather than where they don’t do so well. Normally this is when you realize I have let my time to myself go by the wayside, so I’ll hard schedule some time for me to go up to my office and record an episode or just ramble a recording for myself.

A Peaceful Cuddle Or Two Will Do

Michael Kellam: When my 1 year old comes over to me and lays in my lap. He drops whatever he’s doing when I sit on the floor to crawl or walk excitedly and cuddle in my lap.

Let Us Pray For Peace and Quiet

Scott Samiya: At church… when my infant is in the nursery and my toddler is in “little church” and I can worship my God with no distractions.

Dry Peace, Wet Silence

Joel Martinez: You find peace in knowing all the bills are paid and there’s food on the table and clothing on your kids backs. You find silence while taking a shower.

Early Morning Runs

Tobias Phieler: Every Morning between 4:30 and 6 while running or working out.. had to skip this the whole last week due to lumbago and once again discovered how important this time is for my inner peace.

My Peace Is In The Small Details

Tom Hall: In the little things, line the way he giggles when I hold him because my beard is tickling him or the way he smiles when he realizes that I’m hone from work or when we are laying down as a family at the end of the night.

Take Your Time, Cashier, I’m in NO RUSH AT ALL

Mike Richard: When I leave my kids at home with wife and go to the grocery store to find the slowest old lady ringing up my Oreo’s. Listen to them beeps at the register for 30 seconds of not having to do nothing!
