Happy? Batman? A wicked combination of the two?

Dads have a lot of ideas on what they would like their kids to be when they grow up so we asked ’em! Below is just a sample of the emotional traits and careers dads want their kids to possess.

What do you want your kid to be?

Mark Peterson: A Sith Lord or a Jedi Master, what ever they choose. Just NO PAW PATROL!! The boys love Star Wars, and I get to relive my childhood.

Travis Santelli: Well he can choose whatever career path he wants. Respect his elders, respect his mom and ladies, never be a rat, strong, confident, and believe in himself like I will.

Geoff Poirier: Obviously everyone wants the generic things like being kind and being your own person. My wife and I have had serious discussions about this. We are having our first kid and don’t want to know if it’s a boy or girl. My wife was a fantastic softball player and I played baseball and wrestled through college. Selfishly, we want our kid to play those sports (yes girls can wrestle too). Seriously though, we want our kid to be a decent student, maybe even guide toward a trade school, but our kid will be involved in something, whether it’s athletics, drama or some kind of school club.

Cat Smith: Respectful. Well educated. Polite.
My eldest wants to be a pilot… that’s fine by me lol but NO military. NO rugby/wrestling. NO police/fire department.
I know I can’t stop him doing what he wants to. As long as he’s happy.

Mick Barbeau: To be able to think critically. See something like the images all over the web claiming something and immediately wonder what’s the source of that information. Accept nothing decide for yourself after you look into it.

Trav Moynihan: I want my kids to do everything they can to the best that they can and to do it better than I did each generation should be a better version than the last.

Brian Holzhauer: The First Female NFL quarterback.

Llewellyn Roelofse: The best version of herself. To me she will always be enough.

Bill Lyon: Successful in whatever they choose to do. Work ethic and drive are something my parents instilled in me and is important in our house. Whatever you do, do it best.

Jonathon Harvey: Himself. He’s a mini me and after trying so hard to be what others wanted me to be, I want him to actually be who he is and be proud of that.

Sibusiso Buthelezi: Right now, a kid. I want to him to be a kid, he has got his whole life to choose who he wants to be.

Jordan Ortiz: Awake. Hopefully he’s given a clearer picture of the real world than I was given. “You can be anything you want to be” is a flat out lie that millennials grew up with. I want my kids to be ready for reality and hopefully I can give them the tools to succeed in the REAL WORLD.

Zach Williamson: My son wants to be a witch. I was thinking I would like him to learn a trade and then work on witchcraft in his free time.
