I left my corporate job to be a full time dad 9 years ago this month. While I cannot remember much about life back then, naptime still glows in my memories.
Daily nap was one of the best times of the day — after lunch, in the warmth of the sun as it shined in through the dusty blinds in my bedroom as my baby, our cat and me lie on top of my comforter, beneath my own tattered green, yellow and white baby blanket, reading a book and falling asleep together.
I can close my eyes and no matter what is happening in the present, I can feel that time, if only for a brief beautiful moment.
When do you know it's time for a nap?

Kyle Schreckengost: Every weekend my me and my son’s naptime is 12pm to 2pm.
Robin Wallace: When EVERY. Single. Thing is an earth-shattering tragedy – you know, awful things like dropping your sippy cup, dad cutting your sandwich into rectangles instead of triangles, those kind of truly awful things!
David Leo: I used to kinda make nap time. Like go crazy with them, with no sugar, lots of water, and a few hours in feed them. Then start the movie Shawshank redemption. Everyone sleeps for a few hours.
Chris Varconie: My son has been going to daycare for over a year. He is 3 and the woman who runs the daycare in her home has done so for 30 or so years. She puts them down between 12 and 2 and this has worked perfectly for my boy. He is ready everyday right at noon. Especially with hard play in the morning.
Kevin Bennett: Usually my 3 year old will start being a diva and she’ll keep acting like she’s hungry . My son who’s 10 months it’s just when he rubs his eyes it’s easy . For me ? What’s a nap?
Aditi Singh: When battery remains 1% and there’s no charging point near your bed!
Sean Todd: When I escape to the bathroom and fall asleep on the toilet watching videos on Facebook.
Mike Taylor: Ten minutes after I wake up I know if I will be napping later.
Elizabeth Headley: It’s always time for a nap…oh you mean the kids?
Josh Gottschalk: As soon as I feel tired, I turn on an old NASCAR YouTube video and rack out.
Chris Wolf: I haven’t had a nap in years…. my kids are 5&7 and haven’t had a nap in years… we’re all very tired!
Dave Tate: When you fall down from exhaustion because you have a toddler than won’t sleep!
Adam Cormier: If you’re thinking about it…it’s time!
Paul Sharp: The days that end in y…
Hahaha, when you do know it’s time for zzzzzzzz….a nap?
