JustforkicksnewIn Macon, Georgia three police officers are getting some well-deserved recognition. Officers Trinicholas Carswell, Timothy Jones and Jeff Howell helped out a 9 year old boy who was getting bullied by a 16 year old girl and other kids in the neighborhood. The boy’s grandmother, Carolyn Taylor spoke with the police officers about why her grandson, Adam Flowers was getting picked on. It turns out other kids were making fun of his worn out sneakers.

Earlier this month Mrs. Taylor saw one of the kids hurt her grandson by placing him in a choke hold. Once the officers learned about this they decided to help out the young boy. The three cops heard that Adam does really well in school. He was an A student. According to an official police press release Adam’s grandmother is taking care of him and his two brothers by herself. It is hard for her to make ends meet.

The officers went a local mall and bought Adam a brand new pair of Air Jordans. Adam and his family really appreciated the gift from the police department. Adam put the shoes on right on the spot and was so happy.

Adam wrote them a letter saying, “Thank you for helping me stop the bullying, I can play outside without worrying. Oh I forgot! My shoes are awesome, they are cool. I won’t forget you.”

I love hearing stories like this one from Macon. These officers did something that might seem small to others, but made a huge impact in Adam’s life.
