JustforkicksnewThis week some cool news surfaced with a new design of the Air Jordan XI. This time the patent leather was replaced with LEGO pieces. Yep, you read that right. An artist that goes under the name of tomyoo23 started up this project. He is looking to get his project funded and possibly have LEGO get this new form of the Air Jordan XI on the market. You can help him out by going to his Air Jordan XI “Concord” project page here.

You may ask why not start with the Air Jordan I for this project? The reason is that the Air Jordan XI is considered to be the most popular shoe from the Jordan line. So if you are looking to get your idea approved why not start by using the most iconic sneaker? In 1995 Nike designer Tinker Hatfield teamed up with MJ to make this sneaker. The Jordan XI was originally released in this white, black and dark concord colorway. This is the colorway that tomyoo23 used.

As you can see in the picture of the Air Jordan XI that is in the middle of the two LEGO pics tomyoo23 did a great job recreating Tinker’s original work. The sole work that is on the LEGO version is spot on.
