We all have heard the old saying never say never.  It seems that every time we think about something and say that it will never happen…. BOOM it happens. It is almost an offshoot of Murphy’s Law. In my younger years if you told me certain things I would be doing in ten years I would have laughed in your face and said that is never going to happen. Here is just a list of some things I thought I would never do when I was in my early twenties.

Never thought I would be shopping for a bra for my wife at Victoria’s Secret with my two daughters ages are 4 and 1.

Never thought I would be able to tell you all three names of the character Sleeping Beauty from the Disney film. (For those scoring at home: Sleeping Beauty, Aurora, and Briar Rose.)

Never thought I would be upset that most all men’s public bathrooms do not have a diaper changing table.

Never thought I would cry like a baby when I opened up a handmade gift from my daughter at Christmas.

Never thought I would laugh at the deleted blooper scenes from a Tinkerbell movie and tell my wife how funny it was over dinner.

Never thought I would be carrying a backpack that was full of diapers, wet wipes, crayons, snacks, books, and toys and making sure I always had it fully stocked.

Never thought I would say, “Because I said so!” and mean it.

Never thought I would have to calculate how many bags of breast milk I would need to take with me to the mall.

The list can go on and on trust me, but we all have been there right? Not just in parenting, but in general. Life takes you on an incredible journey. You have to try and enjoy every minute of your life experiences. Like my man Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
