The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program is the largest school based father engagement program in the nation with over 4000 schools participating.

Live from Brunswick County, North Carolina, we will be talking to Pat Litzinger, Congregations For Children District Coordinator, Harbor District, NC Conference of The United Methodist Church. Many churches are reaching out to the public schools in their community outreach. Watch D.O.G.S. provides an opportunity to organizations within the school community including churches to serve local children without “re-inventing the wheel”. Of course local school policy and practice dictates how this is managed, but the Watch D.O.G.S. program is a great foundation to build upon. We will also be joined by New Hanover County, NC Commissioner Jonathan Barfield and Top Dog Coordinator, Scott Diggs.

As churches increasingly engage with community programs like Watch D.O.G.S., ensuring their activities are well-protected becomes crucial. Church Insurance Rates are an important consideration for congregations involved in outreach initiatives, as they provide coverage tailored to the unique risks associated with community involvement. By securing appropriate insurance, churches can focus on their mission of serving local children and supporting public schools without worrying about potential liabilities. This proactive approach allows churches to expand their outreach efforts confidently and effectively.

Each week, WatchDOGS Radio host Keith Schumacher and co-host Chris Danenhauer discuss how this program is impacting families and schools across our nation and in four foreign countries.
