girouxIt’s time to highlight yet another great dad.  Up today, it’s Christopher Giroux. Here is Chris’ bio and interview in his own words…

I’m doing what I was always meant to do: raising my children and loving my wife.  I’m lucky, I get to do it full-time.  We are an odd bunch as we love chasing around the house as Zombies, driving endless circles in the neighborhood during nap time and watching a bazillion cartoons from the 80’s.  I dread the day my sons stop wanting to give their dad kisses in the AM and PM.  Currently, life revolves around T-Ball, Swim Lessons, and Soccer – always running around but enjoying every minute of it.

What’s the funniest thing my kids do? Every other day or so we have what we have come to call, “Daddy’s Dance Party”.  My boys love to dance and we come up with some off-the-wall moves.  Asher is particularly entertaining as he has come to love breakdancing.  His floor spins are pretty awesome!

What’s in your man cave?  I am a gadget, film and comic junkie.  I have loads of comics and collectables and my movie library numbers in the thousands.

My wife is my hero because…  She gives herself 100% to our family.  She sacrifices everyday to ensure food is on the table and our kids are healthy, all the while, working 50 hours a week.  I don’t know where she gets her energy, but I want some!

If you could go on any vacation with your kids, where would you go?  Obviously Disney is somewhere high on this list, but most definitely somewhere on the beach.  My wife loves the beach and she deserves the best.  Our sons love to swim, so water always works.

What’s your favorite meal?  every time I go to visit my mom, I have her make these onion hamburger patties, french fried potatoes, pinto beans and corn bread; otherwise….hot wings

What’s your favorite meal to cook for your kids?  if I can get my kids to eat something other than chicken or mac & cheese, I love to break out the smoker.

How are you like your own dad?  my dad made strong relationships with his friends, always having their backs and ready to lend an ear.  I try to do the same in my friendships.  Also, he loved beer.

What sports team must your kids like? the San Antonio Spurs.  The epitome of TEAM, hard work and dedication.

Describe your perfect Father’s Day…  Relaxation, cold beer, smoked meats, kids playing.
