How many of you have waited and waited for your child to simply “get it” and they just don’t? I know that I have been in that situation, and afterward I find myself saying, “why did I get so upset and frustrated”.
As all of us know it will take your child some time to learn a new skill, let alone a new behavior (if you are working on issues relating to this). As parents we must be patient and allow our children to make mistakes as well as fail so that they learn what they must to be selfelient in the future.
I know that for me this was not the easiest thing to do, but I continuously must do this to make sure that my daughters will be able to survive in the world outside of our little oasis.
For me, I find that there are times when I have to simply walk away from Diva-J when I get frustrated, or simply close my eyes and count to ten so that I don’t bottle up the feelings. This sometimes works, and though I may still be frustrated, yet, I am calmer and have had a few seconds to formulate an answer which sometimes sounds coherent and full of love instead of anger.
In researching this post I came up with a number of resources that I wanted to share with you all:

Today’s task is to take a moment and think about how you can practice patience. Make a list of ten things that try your patience and 10 ways for you to be able to make your patience last longer. I am interested to know where you find your patience slipping away and what you have done in the past or what you plan to do to balance out your life. If you are so inclined please leave your responses in a comment below or link to a blog post if you are going to commit to joining me on this journey so that others can learn from you as well.
Good luck with day 3 and I look forward to your thoughts and comments!
