INT. BEDROOM – DAWN 

 TOMMY, located in Los Angeles, calls his wife LUCY, who is vacationing in Chicago with their daughter BABS.  They have been apart for a week, as the girls are spending much-needed quality time with LUCY’s family.  BABS was a star on the flight to Chicago, sleeping for three out of the four hours. 

TOMMY 

Good morning babe.  I miss you guys…how did the baby do last night? 

LUCY 

Miss you too…she was awesome…she slept for seven hours straight.  Wanna talk to her? 

TOMMY 

Yeah, I would love to.  (To baby) How’s my baby girl doing? 

BABS 

Ehhhh…naaa.daaaaa…aaaa 

TOMMY and BABS have a strong connection, and have really responded to each other’s voices since her birth.  Much like E.T. and Drew Barrymore, they can communicate, even though BABS speaks no English, Spanish, or Latin at this point. 

TOMMY 

Are you excited to come and see me tomorrow?  Barbara Anne is coming home! 

BABS 

(bringing the pink covered Blackberry closer to her mouth) 

AHHH…mmmmm…eeeeee…..aaaa 

TOMMY can often get BABS to talk more, by talking back to her in the same way.  Nobody is near him, so he responds just like baby… 

TOMMY 

Naaaaa.bbbbbaaaaaaa…ahhh…fffffalafel 

BABS 

(excited that he is speaking her language, and realizing it is her dad) 

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. 

INT. BEDROOM – NOON 

LUCY is talking to BABS, as she is laying on the bed, and eating her foot.  The phone rings.  It’s TOMMY.  He is 24 hours away from seeing his family… 

LUCY 

Hi…here she is…she’s excited to see you tomorrow! 

 TOMMY 

Hi Baby Barbara…You’re mama just check in online for tomorrows flight. 

(Switching to baby language) 

Neeeeeee…aaaaa….vaaaaalenzuela 

BABS could care less who is on the phone now.  She continues to eat her foot. 

FADE to BLACK.
