INTRODUCING YOU TO BANDS YOU MIGHT  NOT KNOW, BUT TOTALLY SHOULD.

The Glorious Sons

I always think it’s strange that popular Canadian bands sometimes don’t have the same impact in the United States as they should. Don’t we basically share airwaves up there? That lack of translation can be a good thing and in turns a bad one. For every Arcade Fire, Steppenwolf or Broken Social Scene  you have your share of Nickelbacks and Loverboys. Some of the good ones, however, just never seem to get the rotation they deserve outside of America’s Hat. Bands like The Tragically Hip just never made the foothold they needed outside of border towns, or those specifically seeking the band out. The Glorious Sons are pretty much the same in that respect. They are just a solid rock band with blue collar roots that are tragically underrepresented in the US. Excellent vocals in straight rock or semi-balladry is backed by a tight group of musicians whose individual strengths combine to form this Voltron of marvelous rock.

Notable Songs:

Everything Is Alright

Kill The Lights

Mama

Heavy
