It’s been a tough week for our little man.  He has a virus, and has been coughing, sneezing, and crying many hours of the day.

The things that we usually do to calm him down (rocking, swaying), don’t seem to be working as well.

A couple days ago I put SportsCenter on thinking for sure that I wouldn’t hear a word of the highlights, because Tommy would be crying the entire time.

Then something miraculous happened.  The tears went away.  The cough was cured.  Tommy boy started smiling!

We got to watch highlights of the first week of baseball, the first week of the NHL playoffs, and much more.  The Mets are off to a great start!

Listen, I have been obsessed with SportsCenter since middle school, but I had not idea my 4.5 month old son would discover it this quickly.

Since my daughter was born two years ago, I’ve watched SportsCenter maybe 3-4 times.  Not because I didn’t want to, but because the ladies in the house ruled the television, and whenever I had free time, I was updating this here website.

But now, the boys are back!  Tommy Sr. and Tommy Jr. are going to watch sports together all the time, we’re even waiting for the upcoming Qatar World Cup, because SportsCenter cures the flu.

I can hear the SportsCenter theme song right now in my head…

Doo do doot.   Doo do doot.

(Note:  As soon as the half-hour SportsCenter was over, Tommy boy’s flu-like symptoms re-appeared… Apparently, EPSN’s “Around the Horn” DOES NOT cure the flu.)
