Byron Scott and family

Byron Scott 

Byron Scott grew up in Inglewood, California and played at Morningside High School, in the shadow of what was then the Lakers’ home arena, The Forum. He attended Arizona State University but left school in his junior year to enter into the NBA.  As a player, he won three NBA championships with the Lakers during their Showtime era in the 1980s.

Scott then became the head coach in the NBA for a few teams. In 2007 while coaching the New Orleans Hornets they had a winning percentage of .683 with a record of 56–26. They became Southwest Division champions and finished 2nd overall in the Western Conference. Scott was named the head coach of the 2008 Western Conference All-Star team, and a few months after, he was awarded the 2007–2008 NBA coach of the year award.

Byron Scott is now an ESPN studio analyst and is a frequent guest on shows including The Jump with Rachel Nichols, Sportsnation, and NBA Countdown.

The Mourning Family

Alonzo Mourning 

Alonzo Mourning, is a husband, father, Hall of Fame Athlete, community leader and champion for youth-focused causes.  In 1997, he founded the Mourning Family Foundation, a nonprofit public fundraising foundation, created to inspire and empower youth through advocacy, education, and enrichment programs. Since 1997, the Mourning Family Foundation has raised more than $25 million for various programs that aid in the development of children and their families.

Mourning is a graduate of Georgetown University, and currently serves on the University’s Board of Directors. He and his wife, Tracy Wilson Mourning, reside in Miami, Florida with their three children – sons Trey and Alijah and daughter Myka.

The Curry Family

Dell Curry 

Dell Curry was one of the best shooters in the NBA during his time in the league. Curry would play either at the shooting guard position or at small forward. He played for five NBA teams, most notably for the Charlotte Hornets. In 1994 he won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award. To this day he still holds some team records.

Now working for FOX Sports as a commentator he gets to still be around the game he loves. His son, Steph Curry currently plays in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors. Like father, like son, Steph has a sweet shot and is a force to be reckoned with on the court.
