At the beginning of January, I named this year “The Year of Awesome.”  I wanted to do something each month that I had never done before, and would remember forever.

Last month, I launched my first spoof reality series, “The Real Housedads of Orange County.”  Thanks for all the support of this hilarious series so far, and watch Episode 2, “Don’t Be Late For The Playdate.”

In February, “The Year of Awesome” focuses on fundraising.  The charity literally very close to our hearts, Saving Tiny Hearts, is currently in the midst of a fundraising drive with Highland Park High School in Illinois.

Highland Park is the best fundraising high school in the country, hands down.  They have been featured in the Wall Street Journal for their ambitious, and successful charity drives.

Babs and I created a rap for the kids at Highland Park, hoping they would choose Saving Tiny Hearts as their annual fundraiser, and they did!  A big thank you to Brian and Francie Paul for creating this amazing cause, and for all of the hard work they and the Highland Park students are doing all throughout the month of February!

In addition, we just completed another TINY HEART SUPERHEROES fundraiser, raising over $700 for Saving Tiny Hearts in our charity auction.

Finally, a big congratulations to my wife’s Aunt Susie, who just celebrated her 80th birthday.  Happy Birthday Aunt Susie!  In lieu of birthday gifts, she asked that everybody donate to Saving Tiny Hearts, which they did, and ever so generously.  Thank you to Aunt Susie and all of her friends and family.

So that’s that.  “The Year of Awesome” continues with inspirational fundraising efforts in February 2011.  For more information about Saving Tiny Hearts, or to make a donation, check out their website.
