Week 4 is done. I want say congrats to Mike of “I’m A Man I’m Forte” in the Life of Dad West Conference for winning the NFL T-shirt from Junk Food Clothing. This is the second time you won a shirt in our league. Great fantasy coaching sir! You have a record of 4-0! Plus your team recorded the most points out of all the 24 dads for the Life of Dad Fantasy League this week.

This week fantasy owners either benefited or got destroyed because of the teams being on a bye week. True story in another league I was going up against a guy who has Aaron Rodgers on his team. For me I was happy to see the NFL give the Packers this week off. Luckily for me I didn’t have to deal with Rodgers. That was a good thing. So as Sunday approached I wondered who my opponent’s quarterback would be. He didn’t have a backup QB on his bench.

It turns out he picked up Raiders signal caller Terrelle Pryor off the waivers. Sunday morning Pryor was on the inactive list. With that turn of events my opponent then picked up Jay Cutler from the Bears. Cutler’s game was a tale of two halves. The first half he had a fumble and three interceptions. The second half he threw for two touchdowns and passed for a total of 317 yards. I ended up still winning in that league. So I was happy to get a win in that league, but I lost in the Life of Dad league. Why did I lose in the LoD league? It was because of my bench or lack of good players on the bench.

Just like me some NFL teams did not get the W this week. Heck there are NFL teams who still have not won a game. The New York Football Giants are 0-4.  There is some discord in some of the team’s locker rooms who are still winless like the Giants. Don’t believe me? Just look at Giants defensive end Justin Tuck’s comments from earlier this week.

“If anyone turns on our coach, I would be the first one to punch him in the mouth,” Tuck told the New York Daily News. “And put that in print. It better not happen, I know that.”

Losing makes players go crazy, especially the players who are usually on winning clubs. Hopefully if you lost this week, you are not going around looking to punch people in the mouth. This is just fantasy football. No need to start looking to throw down. Still I get it. You want to win. There are some great prizes to be had in our league. Just keep doing your research and look up for players to help you get through these bye weeks.

If Week 4 taught you only one thing hopefully it was to make sure you have a few good players on your bench. We are now into the bye weeks. You need to have some decent backup players. This is where fantasy owners start paving their way to make the postseason. I know it is only Week 4, but as we move forward winning these next few games are crucial. As NSYNC once sang, “It might sound crazy but it ain’t no lie. Remember your players for the bye bye bye.” (Well something like that.)
