Monday Night Football is in the books which means we have completed five full weeks in the NFL. In our own Life of Dad Fantasy Football League there is a dynasty building. Mike of “I’m A Man I’m Forte” in the Life of Dad West Conference just keeps on winning. This is now his third NFL T-shirt from Junk Food Clothing. Once again great fantasy coaching sir! You have a record of 5-0! You are the Denver Broncos of our league. Can Mike run the table? Looks like it to me.
If you read my TMQ last week you know we are dealing with bye weeks. For Mike of “I’m A Man I’m Forte” it looks like bye weeks don’t affect him. Even though Mike remains consistent, Week 5 in the NFL was anything but. Tom Brady’s streak of throwing at least one TD pass in a game ended against the Cincinnati Bengals. Just like fantasy owners who drafted Gronk, Brady eagerly awaits Rob Gronkowski return.
Keeping with the QB theme, those owners who drafted Michael Vick saw him go down with an injury this past Sunday. Just like in the past few years, Vick leaving a game due to an injury is just par for the course. (Yes, I just used a golf analogy for the NFL.) Yet the Philadelphia Eagles had Nick Foles come in to lead the Eagles past the now 0-5 New York Giants.
What is going on in NYC? Eli and company are just falling apart. Still Giants wide outs Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, and Rueben Randle all had a decent game fantasy wise. They are the one bright spot in a dark year for the Giants.
Did anyone select the Arizona Cardinals defense this week? Anyone? Anyone? Only one out the 24 dads in our league took a chance on Arizona. Team Howlett was the one who took that chance. It paid off for him as he won his match up this week.
Even though Tony Romo threw a typical 4th quarter interception, fantasy owners are very happy with his fantasy output on Sunday. Romo threw for over 500 yards and had 4 touchdown passes. He kept up with Peyton Manning, but fell short at the end of the game.
There are a few teams that are still winless and a few team that haven’t lost a game. Most of the teams in the Life of Dad fantasy football league are right in the middle record wise. If you look at the standings in both leagues, the Stealers Wheel hit song comes to mind. “Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you.” So to those 3-2 and 2-3 teams I say you are still in hunt to make it into the playoffs.
