Parenting is scary. I mean, it’s amazing, joyous, fun, hilarious, cuddly and beautiful but man is it terrifying too. We wanted to know what scares the dads of our Facebook community so we asked you! Here’s just some of what you told us.
Jarad Jones: My son was born with only a thumb on his left hand. I’m optimistic but also pretty scared about him adapting to that and the way he might be treated because of it.
Daniel Miller: Watching other kids suffer. I have 2 lil girls and when I see other kids suffer I get sick to my stomach. I have lost a lot of sleep from the fear of my lil boos going through these terrible moments.
Tristan Welch: Genuinely; being able to be there for and with my kids. I’m separated and had to move several hundred miles to be near my children after my ex moved. Making things work down here is damn hard, I’ve been close to failing and having to go back home to family too many damn times in the last two years. I don’t think I could handle it.
Sara-Jayne Jones: Nothing now. I have buried one of my children. There is nothing more that life could throw that is more painful to contend with.
Whitney Covey: My ex-wife’s hatred for me rubbing off on our kids.
Marcello Maroni: The earthquake that I felt 1hr ago while in bed with my 2 year old daughter that had just fallen asleep. Terrible, few seconds that felt like ages.
Jesus Castro: Dying before seeing my son grow up to become a better man than I am or my son being diagnosed with a severe disease.
Samantha Roberts Bourne: As a parent, my children hating me.
As a person, death and my mother.
Jacob A Cruz Sr.: Social Media and cell phones in the hands of young kids.
Mike Gallagher: Losing my kid to cancer scares me. That almost happened last year.
Rob LeBlanc: I’m grossly afraid of heights, and I’m a Local Union #3 Elevator Mechanic in NYC.
Finally, I think this sums up all our fears perfectly:
Alan Spada: Not being able to see, hug, and kiss my children everyday and be a continuing part of their daily lives as they grow and become contributing adults to the world we live in.
