Do you have the X-Factor?

Yesterday I was working the Los Angeles auditions for Simon Cowell’s new show, “The X-Factor.”

Over 15,000 hopefuls showed up at the L.A. Sports Arena, auditioning in front of producers, aspiring to get a step closer to the $5 Million Dollar grand prize and a recording contract with Sony.

I entertained the crowd starting at 8AM, leading them in group songs, X-Factor cheers, and more. Entertainment Weekly Online said the following about me:

“From an elevated platform, a spirited emcee warmed up the crowd, which arrived at 6AM under drizzling skies. It was the first day of auditions, and the announcer exhorted contestants to have winning personalities, not just vocal talent, if they want to become the next Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, or Black Eyed Peas. The mass of aspiring pop stars waved, “Simon Pick Me!” posters and joined in sing-alongs of numbers like Teenage Dream and Forget You.”

My elevated platform was pretty funny. About six feet wide, and a few feet off of the ground. I must say, the singers that arrived were awesome for braving out the rain all morning long.

Other reports said there were as many as 17,000 people at the audition.  If Cowell builds it, people will come.

Good luck to all of you who auditioned, and today I’ll be back over at “Ellen!”
