When I was 3 years old I can bet that I wasn’t performing in front of a larger crowd, like Drake Grillo did on Monday. During a Women’s Basketball Game at Syracuse, three year old Drake Grillo sung the National Anthem before the game.

Many people are joking that he set a Carrier Dome (where the Syracuse team plays) record by being the youngest person to sing the National Anthem.

Drake’s Inspiration

Grillo’s mother, Chelsea, said Drake loves watching sports and learned the words to The Star-Spangled Banner from all the games he has watched on TV.  Want to know what is even cool than this? Drake performed this song for three Auburn Doubledays baseball games last summer.

When people asked his mother if he was nervous, she responded, “I just think he’s too little to realize how big of a deal it is. We just try to stay calm for him and not really talk it up. We don’t ask him if he’s nervous. So then maybe he won’t think of that. I don’t he really knows what nervous is yet.’’

The Crowd Goes Wild

After Drake was done he was congratulated by the Women’s basketball team and the crowd showed their support as well. We at Life of Dad can’t wait to see where he performs next!

Well done Drake….well done.
