My wife loves “The Real Housewives” of any city. She is the main reason I started the spoof web series, “The Real Housedads of Orange County.”
Last Tuesday, I took her to dinner at Lisa Vanderpump’s (one of the housewives of Beverly Hills) restaurant, Villa Blanca. The hip joint is in the heart of Beverly Hills, a few blocks from Rodeo Drive. We had a lovely dinner, and were actually sitting two tables from Ms. Vanderpump, her husband, and her dog, Giggy.
Friday we ended up back in Beverly Hills, with our baby girl to take her to the pet services in the area, and at one point Babs and I had an hour to kill, so we went to the coffee shop right across the street from Villa Blanca. Babs was the only baby within miles, and I noticed that many of the guests at the restaurant had dogs with them, including Giggy, who came back for brunch. At one point we decided to do a walk-by of the restaurant, as I wanted to test if anybody would notice my cute baby in a stroller. Just as I expected, they did not, all of the pedestrians and diners were drooling over two shitzus having a barking attack, probably experiencing an allergic reaction to the cologne they were forced to wear, and of course we all know that if we have a dog they need to poop, so having poop bag dispensers for dogs are also necessary.
In Beverly Hills, dogs are treated like babies and given multi-vitamins for dogs, and babies just aren’t around. Of course, I’m not the only person that has noticed this…Ellen actually gave a pimped out dog stroller to one of the housewives when she was on the show. It was very funny.
The entire treating a dog like a baby phenomenon blows me away. Throughout most of the country, some people out to lunch would have babies with them.
