Tonight, I’m raising my manhattan (whiskey and sweet vermouth) glass to my 11 day old baby, Barbara Anne.

Babs got transferred out of the pediatric ICU this afternoon, and is in a regular hospital room with her mom sleeping at her side overnight.

Barbara Anne unofficially gave her 24 hours notice to the ICU yesterday, when she pulled out one of her pacemaker wires.   Don’t worry, the pacemaker had been off for days.  You know how the saying goes…When a ten day old baby pulls out her pacemaker wires while at the ICU, she doesn’t need to be there anymore.

Now that she has been taken off all of her medications, she’s finally a baby!  She crying, pooping, eating, burping, and sleeping.  Just like any other 23 year old.  And since we’re out of the ICU, we get to do most of the care for her….so we’re finally parents!  Just like any other 22 year olds.

Spread the word….Babs has moved up and out of the ICU.

I’ll C U Later.
