About Kevin Harvick
Kevin Harvick was born in Bakersfield, Calif. For his kindergarten graduation, Harvick received a go-kart and began his racing career. In the 10 years that he competed on the go-kart circuit, he learned the value of dedication and discovered the joy of success that would transform into the fierce determination that now defines him. On the track, the MENCS champion is known for his aggressive driving, but off the track his affable attitude and ever-present smile have earned him the nickname “Happy.”
Since joining Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) in 2014, Kevin Harvick has established himself as the fastest, most dominant and consistent driver in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. A championship in 2014, a runner-up finish in the 2015 standings and a third-place effort in 2017, coupled with 14 wins, 15 poles and an astounding 6,665 laps led cement this assertion.
Harvick won the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series championship in convincing fashion in his first year with SHR. It began with a dominating preseason test at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway and ended with an emphatic victory in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He defended his 2014 title down to the last race of the 2015 season at Homestead, where he finished as the series runner-up by one point to championship-winner Kyle Busch. Harvick and his wife and two kids reside in Charlotte and in his spare time enjoys golfing and hunting in the woods near by, this includes heading down to the gun range to practice their shot.
