There a few shows out there that parents and kids can agree on. Parents don’t want a show that is mindless entertainment and kids want a show that is funny, entertaining, and has great characters. Parents also want a show that has some educational merit to it.

Thankfully my kids and I can agree on Project Mc2. This show is funny, entertaining and shows six girls who use science and math to solve any issue that comes in their way. Project Mc2 follows these six super-smart and seriously cool girls who use S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) to complete missions for the secret organization, NOV8, which stands for innovate.

When my kids are asking to watch a show I am happy with them checking out the Emmy-nominated series that is on Netflix. I want my daughters to see that girls can do anything that they want to do. In Project Mc2 these girls can tackle any mission by using their brains and working together. There need to be more shows like Project Mc2. Girls need positive role models and watch girls like them succeeding in all areas of life.

As parents know with these shows on TV there usually are toys to go along with the series. Most of the time the toys are nothing special. Yet with the toy line from Project Mc2 it shows that there can be exceptions. So if your child is looking for a toy that will go above and beyond you might want to pick up some of the item from the Project Mc2 line.

These toys follow the series theme of S.T.E.A.M. and helps to encourage your child to think, play, learn, and have fun every time they play with these toys. From dolls to lab kits there is a handful of toys your kids will love to find under the tree this holiday season. Below is a list of some of the popular items from the Project Mc2 line.

Project Mc2 Ultimate Spy Bag

This is a follow up to last year’s #1 Science Toy of 2015, according to NPD, The Ultimate Lab Kit! Your child can prove that they can hang with the other girls from NOV8 and even become an agent while they investigate in style with spy gadgets in disguise!  Investigators use many different areas of science – including chemistry, biology, and physics – to help crack cases.  The Project Mc2 Ultimate Spy Bag contains everything a super chic sleuth needs including a fingerprinting kit, magnifier hidden in a makeup compact, secret message launcher inside a lipstick tube, flashlight disguised as a nail polish bottle, science test tubes and beakers, and a spy-themed experiment booklet. This bag is used in the show so you know your child will love pretending that they are one of the characters from the show or like my kids, they make up their own character with their own code name.

I would set up a case for them to solve. Once I was done I loved seeing the excitement in them as they used the spy bag to find out the solution to the problem I set up. If they solved the problem correctly I would let them watch an episode of Project Mc2. Needless to say my kids did the best they could so that they could win their reward. When was the last time a toy did that? That is why I really can back these toys from this series. If you have an Apple device like an iPhone or iPad you can even download the Project Mc2 Case Files using out the iOS app to help test your kid’s skills!

Project Mc2 H2O RC Car

There are your basic remote control car and then there is the Project Mc2 H2O Car. This one is powered by S.T.E.A.M. as you build a remote control car and activate it using water, hence that is where you get the H20 in the name of the car. All you do is pop the hood to install the car’s engine and connect the wires, just like hooking up a real car battery; add water to the tank with the included “gas” can, then watch as the headlights turn on and steam comes out of the exhaust. How cool is that? So instead of just putting batteries in the car and playing you and your child can work together to make that car work. Just another example of using science in a fun way to build a toy. When you combine fun and education it is a win-win.

Project Mc2 Experiments with Dolls

These dolls are not your typical doll. They come with cool, at-home experiments with ingredients from home to do the experiments again and again! These experiments kept my daughters busy for a while. One of the cool outcomes from playing with these dolls was that my kids asked me if we could do more science experiments. I loved every part of this. My daughters are using their imagination, their brains, and showing an eagerness to learn more about math and science.

Each doll comes with a different experiment that your kids will love to try over and over. So if you are looking for something new to get your kids this holiday season you need to pick up these dolls along with the spy bag and remote control car. Not only will your kids love playing with these toys, but as a parent you can be happy that your kids are learning about science, math and the arts while having fun. Below is the list of each doll and what they come with.

McKeyla’s Glitter Light Bulb: Make your own glitter light bulb with Project Mc2 leader, McKeyla McAlister.  Mix water, glycerin and glitter into the included bulb.  Screw on the cap and turn the bulb over for the liquid to complete the circuit and activate the sensors.  Attach the bulb to the base for your own DIY glitter globe light!

Adrienne’s Bath Fizz: Make your own bath fizz with culinary chemist, Adrienne Attoms!  Use included measuring spoons to measure and mix baking soda, citric acid, epsom salt, food coloring, vanilla, flower petals, and sprinkles.  Then, put the mixture in included bath fizz mold and let harden in the fridge.  Drop the bath fizz into the tub to add fizzy, colorful fun to your next bath!

Bryden’s Panda Speaker:  Make your own panda-shaped speaker with tech genius, Bryden Bandweth!  Connect your music player to the panda’s ear using the included wire clip.  Cut an apple into thin slices and feed one slice to the panda.  The apple completes an electrical circuit, turning the panda into a speaker!

Devon’s Puffy Paint: New Character! Make your own puffy paint with artist and newest member of Project Mc2, Devon D’Marco.  Mix flour, salt, water and powdered drink mix (or food coloring), and pour into the included paint tubes.  Use your DIY puffy paint to get creative!

Ember’s Hanging Garden:  New Character! Make your own hanging garden with earthy scientist and newest member of Project Mc2, Ember Evergreen.  Layer pebbles, soil, moss and plant seeds inside the terrarium.  Water the seeds with the included pipette, and watch your garden grow!
