Today, I can finally say what I have been waiting to say for over thirty years.   My son has a pancreas!  That’s right, this week, his pancreas starting developing steadily.  Sweet!

You see, about twenty-two weeks ago, my wife and I began construction on a son.  The entire project should take about forty weeks.

Is that my son or a spaghetti squash?

Currently, we are in week 22,  and my son is the 11 inches long, and the size of a spaghetti squash!  At least this is what BabyCenter.com tells me.   I have no idea what spaghetti squash is, but apparently my namesake is one.  Now I’m hungry.

My weekly emails tell me that Tommy Boy is starting to look like a miniature newborn.  I actually have a mini-me.   And he is a spaghetti squash.

Mini-me now has lips, eyelids, eyebrows, and even tooth buds.   Apparently, Tommy boy also has a built in sweater.  He is covered in a layer of lanugo (hair), which he’ll be sporting until he gains a little bit more weight.  Yes, my unborn son is hairier than me.

Want a summary of everything you just read above?

I have helped to create a spaghetti squash-like, really hairy son, who currently has lips, eyes, tooth buds, and a pancreas!

God Bless America.
