About Tommy Riles

Tom Riles is a husband, father, and original founder of Life of Dad, the largest community of dads in the world. With just over two weeks until Father's Day, we continue to feature a great dad every single day.  Today's it is David Lesser.  Take it away, David... My name is Dave Lesser.  In a former life, I graduated from law school, clerked for a judge and, for a short time, [...]

Name Dropping… Toddler Style

We live in Los Angeles.  Hollywood.  La-la Land. Even though I have a very LA job, opening up for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” we live a very un-Hollywood life.  My wife, kids, and I love hanging out at home, or visiting family and friends. Over the three + plus years [...]

My Mom – 12 Days of Moms

While celebrating Mother’s Day this year, I’m going to share some memories with my mom over the years. Twirling her hair when I was just a baby. I’m not sure if this is a memory, or one my mom has told me about, but I always used to twirl [...]

Well done, Jason Collins.

Yesterday, Jason Collins became the first active athlete in one of the four major U.S. sports to open up about about his homosexuality. There has been an overwhelming amount of support already, including from fellow NBA players Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and Dwayne Wade. For some people it will take [...]

Boston Heart Strong

My wife and I had the great opportunity to take a trip to Boston less than two weeks after the Boston Marathon bombing. I was hosting the American Heart Association’s ‘Boston Heart Ball,’ at the Westin Copley Plaza, which is located one block from the finish line. As we arrived [...]
